Communities have the ability to effect policy and help mold attitudes and beliefs when it comes to our pets. When a city or town joins the Get Pet-Friendly™ certification program, it shows residents their community’s commitment to dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds.
A pet friendly community starts with education. Online training walks city leaders, planners, and employees through the steps to set up and manage a successful Get Pet-Friendly™ certified program in their community. Our program includes information to make parks and green spaces accessible to pets and families, how to set smart policies for all breeds, planning events that bring together all citizens in an effort to be pet friendly, and gives communities resources to implement responsible pet ownership, dog bite prevention, and humane education programs.
When your community Get Pet-Friendly™ certified, your town or city will be eligible for discounted rates on liability and workman’s compensation insurance policies. Your community will be listed in our Get Pet-Friendly™ register as a destination for pet lovers and pet-friendly registered pet owners.
Our program gives your community the ability to earn pet points or revenue from participating businesses and residents of your community who also Get Pet-Friendly™ certification. Proceeds can be used to build out pet-friendly spaces in your community and pay for education and resources for your citizens and school systems.
